AVE MARIA, Fla. – Sophomore Lenise Santiago recorded her fourth double-digit scoring game Thursday night in Thomas University's 71-52 loss to Ave Maria University.

Santiago hit a pair of 3-pointers and two free throws, while shooting 6-of-14 overall from the field to post 16 points. Earlier this year, she notched a season high 20 points against Milligan, scored 17 vs. Middle Georgia State and 14 against CIU.

Mahogany Menefee added 10 points and six rebounds for the Night Hawks while Sonya Dozier was just shy of a double-double with nine points and a team-high nine boards.

Thomas jumped out to a 10-point lead 10 minutes into the game, but Ave Maria hit a layup as time expired to take the 16-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Night Hawks outscored Ave Maria in the second quarter to own the 33-29 edge at the half. In the third, TU went 3-for-12 from the field to fall behind, 48-39, and couldn't catch up, dropping the game, 71-52.

The Night Hawk defense forced Ave Maria into 15 turnovers, marking six-straight games forcing double-digit turnovers.

Thomas continues play in Florida, facing No. 6 Southeastern University Saturday at 5 p.m. in Lakeland.
