TU Begins Season On The Road

THOMASVILLE, GA- The Thomas University Women's Basketball team will begin their 22-23 quest as the Green and White look to make strides in the right direction this year.

The much anticipated wait is over, as the Night Hawks will debut their completely new roster under the guidance of first year Head Coach, Zachary Exume. Exume searched nationally for talent, with eleven transfers coming from six different states.

The Night Hawks will also look to rebound from an unexpected year, where the 21-22 team only won one game which was won against SUN opponent; Keiser University for their home and season opener. The Green and White trailed the SUN Conference in both the offensive and defensive categories last season, which resulted in missing the conference tournament.

Head Coach Zachary Exume enters his first year, adding Athletic Assistant Casmine Copeland to his coaching staff for her first season as well.

Columbia International University comes off a losing season, with an even 12-12 conference record for the 21-22 year. The Rams will bring a challenge to the new Night Hawk roster as Columbia International was able to boast an average of 73.5 points a game as a team. Despite the losing season, CIU was able to make a deep run into conference play before making it to the NCCAA National Championship. The Rams saw their season come to an end, falling to #4 University of Northwestern (MN) 51-60.

CIU will return one of their leading scorers to their lineup. Sophomore Madison Hatcher was one of Colombia's top scorers, averaging 12.1 points.

Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00pm.  Fans unable to attend can follow along with the game with the links below.
