THOMASVILLE, GA — The Thomas University women's basketball team fell to the Warriors of Webber International University Saturday afternoon 76-46.
Unfortunately for the Night Hawks, the offensive display that helped fuel a comeback against Warner earlier in the week was nowhere to be found in Saturday's match as the team shot less than 30% overall from the field while only knocking in two of the team's 15 three-point attempts.
Overall, the team picked up two steals but turned the ball overall 27 times leading to 19 Warrior points. Ultimately, the Night Hawks failed to make a defensive impact against the Warriors, as Webber had three players hitting the double-digit mark. with Junior Samantha Pacheco leading all scorers with 17.
On the other end of the court, the Night Hawks were led by Destiny Reed who tallied 16 points while Ta'Nija Watson contributed a solid ten points and six rebounds in the effort.
Up next, the Night Hawks are rewarded a week-long break before facing Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Georgia next Saturday, January 15th. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
