Night Hawks Routed by Fire

Box Score

LAKELAND, FLA — The Thomas University Women's basketball team fell to the Fire from Southeastern Thursday night 36-90.

The Night Hawks were always up against the odds against the Fire (21-1, 10-0 SUN) as the team from Lakeland is ranked number two in the nation. Additionally, Southeastern jumped out to an early 22-2 lead in the first and never looked back.

Thomas was lead by forward Destiny Reed who again scored her season average of 12 points. The Achilles heel for the Night Hawks was the turnover count, as the Fire's 31 points off of turnovers picked up proved to be too much to overcome.

The Fire were led by their star player Angela Perry, who ended the night with a team-high 20 points going 7-11 from the field.

The Night Hawks will have a chance to rebound this weekend when the team travels to Ave Maria, Florida to face-off against the Gyrenes. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
