THOMASVILLE, Ga. – After a home opener against Brewton-Parker was rained out Saturday, the Thomas University Softball team will hit the road Tuesday to start its 2021 campaign, travelling to Cochran, Ga. Tuesday to face the Knights of Middle Georgia State.
TU was forced to sit through a weekend without softball, as rain cancelled the team's season opener at Armory Field against Brewton-Parker College. Now, the Hunter Green & White is set to play three doubleheaders in a six-day span, beginning with MGA (0-2).
The Purple, Black, & White look forward to its home opener after dropping a pair to non-conference rival Reinhardt. Infielders Cyndel Waters and Logan Blizzard both recorded three hits apiece Thursday.
The pitching staff of Caroline Newton, Danielle Powers, and Sydney Shackelford totaled a 5.83 ERA against the Eagles, allowing 19 hits off a .358 batting average, including two home runs.
The Lady Night Hawks and Knights split last season's series, taking a game apiece in Cochran.
First pitch at Knights Field is set for 1 p.m.
