THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University softball team did not disappoint its fans in the team's home opener against #9 Truett-McConnell, splitting the day Sunday afternoon at Armory Field.
 
Game One Recap (TU 2, #9 TMC 0)
Thomas went toe-to-toe with the Lady Bears, as the grinder saw a total of seven combined hits.  Junior Pitcher Rebecca Boesen (3-0) allowed just four hits on the day in a full seven innings pitched while recording eight strikeouts.
 
The game's lone runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when a single from Freshman Jaelynn Vialpando set up a 2HR blast from Junior Corryne Diaz.
 
After going up 2-0, the Lady Night Hawks made sure to tighten its grip on the lead, leading to no hits allowed by Boesen.
 
TMC pitcher Bethany Hyde (1-2) was credited with the loss, giving up three hits.
 
Game Two Recap (#9 TMC 4, TU 0)
Truett-McConnell was rejuvenated in the doubleheader's second game, recording nine hits en route to a 4-0 shutout of the Hunter Green & White. 
 
Thomas' pitching was split between Juniors Shaela Brown (0-1) and Larran Carter.  Carter entered the top of the fourth inning with two outs and kept the Lady Bears at bay, allowing just two hits while recording two strikeouts.

The Lady Night Hawks begin it's the Sun Conference schedule Saturday, hosting University of South Carolina at Beaufort for doubleheader action.  First pitch is scheduled for noon.
