THOMASVILLE, Ga. – If there was one thing the Thomas University Men's basketball team wanted to guarantee, it was finishing the regular season with a non-losing The Sun Conference record. The Night Hawks made sure it did not become a reality Saturday evening, as the Hunter Green & White defeated TSC's Preseason Favorite Southeastern 59-50 at TU Gymnasium.
For the fourth time in five years, Thomas (10-16, 10-10 TSC) has finished its conference slate .500 or better. The win clinches the No. 5 seed for the Night Hawks by virtue of a tiebreaker over Coastal Georgia, as the Mariners fell to Warner Saturday by three points.
The Night Hawks shot over 41% from the field and over 31% from beyond the perimeter.
Junior Guards
Tim Williamson (20 points) and
Trint Bryant (16 points) took care of most of the scoring. Williamson additionally shot 60% from the floor.
