THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Women's basketball team will have a premier opportunity to secure a spot in the annual The Sun Conference tournament Thursday evening as the Lady Night Hawks head back to Lake Wales, Fla. to face Warner a third time in TSC action.
The Hunter Green & White (2-14, 2-13 TSC) are on a mission to win the regular-season series over the team's conference rival after a seven-day quarantine canceled weekend contests against St. Thomas and Florida Memorial. Seniors
Alexis Powell and
Destiny Reed head into Thursday leading the Lady Night Hawks in Scoring (11.8 and 11.5 Points a game, respectively). In the last four outings, Senior
Alisha Clayton has averaged 11.5 boards a contest.
Warner (6-19, 1-17 TSC) will need to win on out if the team is looking at a shot making the postseason tournament. WU's Haley Gantt continues to be the mainstay of the offense (12.62 points/game with 8.67). Gantt additionally leads TSC in Blocks average (1.67).
TU and WU both own a game apiece in the series; Warner edged Thomas 50-48 in the team's first meeting in Lake Wales January 16th, as the Night Hawks returned the favor two weeks ago with a 70-60 win at TU Gymnasium.
Tipoff at the Turner Athletic Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Fans can follow the game by accesing the links below:
