WBB Middle Georgia and Lynn University Preview

THOMASVILLE, GA — The Thomas University women's basketball team is set to compete against two non-conference opponents, as the Night Hawks prepare to host Middle Georgia on Saturday, November 13th at 2 p.m. before traveling to Boca Raton, Fla. in an exhibition contest against DII Lynn University.

The Night Hawks will look to carry the momentum from Thursday's matchup where Thomas controlled an offensively-talented Keiser team to a season-low 43 points. The win against the Seahawks marked the first win for the Night Hawks this season, and opened up conference play for the 2021-22 season.

Newcomers Ta'Nija Watson, Alexis Boston and Jaleigh Miller led the way for Thomas. Watson ended with nine assists, Boston finished with 13 boards, and Miller led the way in scoring with 14. Graduate student Destiny Reed continues to lead the team in scoring this season, contributing 13 on Thursday night in the 59-43 win.

TU vs. Lynn 11/15/21

The Lynn Fighting Knights' women's basketball team is finally back after the 2020-21 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Night Hawks will have a tall task on Monday, as the team travels to compete against the impressive opponent that recently took down fellow SUN Conference member St. Thomas in an exhibition contest. In that game, the closely contested game went down to the wire with both teams tied at 69 before heading into overtime. In OT, the Fighting Knights struggled to make field goals. However, Graduate Student Uloma Enyogasi made a massive three-pointer followed by a clutch two that helped Lynn solidify the overtime victory 81-78.

Despite the canceled COVID-19 season, the Fighting Knights will return their 2019-20 leading scorer Uloma Enyogasi who averaged 13.2 points per game. The returners list also includes Kelsi Fizer, who averaged 5.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, Loie Webb, who started 22 games and averaged 6.4 points per game, while totaling 50 assists and 24 steals, and Trinity Edwards who started nine games and appeared in 24.

Tipoff against the Fighting Knights on Monday is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Lynn University Gymnasium. To follow along with the contest click the links below.
