THOMASVILLE, GA — The Thomas University women's basketball team lost 86-29 against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Sunday afternoon in the first of three exhibition games scheduled for the 2021-22 season.
The Night Hawks struggled to find their groove offensively, as the team shot less than 20% overall while allowing the Eagles to control the game hitting 42% of their field goals.
The main struggle for TU was turnovers, as the Eagles scored 32 points off the 21 TOs committed by the Night Hawks. The lone bright spot for Thomas was the improvement from the free throw line, where, after shooting 44.4% in the season-opener, the Night Hawks turned it around at the charity stripe shooting 9-13 (69.2 %) in Sunday's contest.
Up next, the Night Hawks will travel to compete in the annual Faulkner Classic (November 5-6), where TU will face off against Life University on Friday (5th) before quickly turning around for a Saturday night game against Faulkner University.
Tipoff on Friday is scheduled for 2 p.m., while Saturday's contest is set for 6 p.m..
