LAKELAND, Fla. – After suffering an 89-69 loss to Southeastern earlier this season, the Night Hawks "fired" back Tuesday night, defeating SEU 72-63 at the Furnace for the team's fourth The Sun Conference win.
TU (4-11, 4-5 TSC) shot just under 38% from the field while hitting 42.9% of its long range shots. The Hunter Green & White's free-throw game was on target once again, going 19-for-23 (82.6%).
Junior Guard
Jordan Booker tallied 19 points with four steals and three boards, while Junior Guard
Tim Williamson almost notched a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.
1st Half (TU 34, SEU 30)
- After the Fire began the game with a 10-4 lead with 16:02 left, TU controlled the next eight minutes of the game, going on a 14-0 scoring run that included five steals in that span
- After a Toriano Lewis Good 3-Ptr. put TU ahead 34-21 at the 1:59 mark, SEU finished the half on a blazing 9-0 scoring run that included a buzzer-beating Good 3-Ptr.
- The Hunter Green & White shot 50% outside the arc and a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe
- The bench was strong for the Night Hawks, scoring 20 of its first-half points
- Junior Guard Toriano Lewis led the Night Hawks with nine points from three made 3-Ptrs.
- The Night Hawks forced eight first-half steals
2nd Half (TU 72, SEU 63)
- Southeastern continued its scoring run from the first half, adding another nine to start the half to lead 39-34 at the 17:18 mark
- The Night Hawks wasted no time digging out of the deficit, converting on three straight layups from Jordan Booker and Junior Guard Trint Bryant
- Leading 48-47 midway through the second half, Jordan Booker's Good 3-Ptr. ignited a 12-3 run for the Night Hawks that expanded 4:17 to extend its lead to double-digits (60-50)
- A Good 3-Ptr. from Senior Guard from Tre Alexandrea with 1:58 remaining would extend TU's lead to eight (66-58), ultimately leading to free throws to ice the Fire and the game

The Night Hawks' victory brings the overall series 14-13 in favor of the Fire. TU is back in action Thursday, looking to avenge its latest loss to Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Ga. in TSC's Game of the Week. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
