LAKE WALES, Fla. – Senior Guard
Tre Alexandrea scored a career-high 21 points, but his efforts were not enough as the Thomas University Men's basketball team ended up on the disappointing side of an overtime thriller, falling to RV Warner 92-86 Saturday evening in The Sun Conference play at the Turner Athletic Center.
As fans saw a potential preview of a TSC playoff game, Thomas (3-11, 3-5 TSC) went toe-to-toe with the conference's current leader, with the largest lead from either side being no more than 11 points. The Night Hawks shot well during regulation, averaging 49.8% from the field and 39.8% long-range. In overtime, however, TU shot a disappointing 18.2% from the field and went 0-for-5 outside the arc. The Hunter Green & White had a much better performance from the free throw line, shooting just over 70%.
In addition to Alexandrea's stats total, Junior Guard
Jordan Booker recorded his second-highest steal total in a game with eight, along with tallying 15 points, two boards, and six assists. Junior Guard
Toriano Lewis notched 3-of-6 from long-range, including a perfect 2-for-2 inside the arc. Redshirt Sophomore Guard Keon Williams had a breakout performance, scoring ten points shooting over 83% from the field and seven boards.
