THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Women's basketball team is set to avenge a 68-59 defeat against the College of Coastal Georgia as the Lady Night Hawks host the Mariners Thursday night in The Sun Conference action.
TU (0-6, 0-6 TSC) saw a glimmer of light despite an 82-70 loss to Florida Memorial last time out, as the offense shot over 40% from the field. The Lady Night Hawks have now seen three or more players score double digits in back-to-back games, and will look to keep the streak alive against their in-state rivals that allow just under 39% of shots from the field. Sophomore Guard
Emiah Downie currently has TU's longest active streak of double digit scoring games with seven.
Coastal Georgia (5-5, 3-4 TSC) hopes to rebound from back-to-back losses to Southeastern and Florida Memorial. The Lady Night Hawks' 3-Pt. Defense will be tested once again, as the Mariners long-range attack is led by Solrun Gisladottir, averaging 2.9 made 3-Ptrs. a game, a second-best in the conference. Kaliyah Little leads the overall scoring unit for CCGA with 14.6 points a game. TU's offense will be challenged by Elle Baker's defense in the paint, averaging 1.5 blocks a game.
