HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Thomas University's
Joe Bannan is in a four-way tie for second after the first round of the Carey Collegiate Classic held at Canebrake Country Club.
Bannan fired a 1-under 71 on the first day to be just two strokes back of the leader, John Karcher from Spring Hill College.
The Night Hawks are tied for sixth in the 14-team field, posting a 12-over 300, which is 10 strokes off the pace held by Spring Hill College.
Sam Ledbury is tied for 24th with a 3-over 75, and
Carl Rosenholm, one of five players to card an eagle on the day, is close behind with a 76 (T27).
Chad Tracy's 6-over 78 has him tied for 43rd and
Dylan Miranda is 9-over, which is tied for 63rd.
Thomas is back in action Tuesday at the Carey Collegiate Classic.
