BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Thomas University baseball team battled No. 16 Webber International University Friday night at Heart of Florida Field, eventually falling, 4-3.

Patrick Haley struck out seven in 5.0 innings and closer
Hassan Westbrook fanned six in 3.0 innings to combine for 13 strikeouts.
WIU scored one in the second and one in the third, but Thomas plated two in the fourth to tie the game. WIU answered with two in the fifth, and Thomas put up one in the sixth, but left two on base in both the seventh and ninth innings to take the loss.
Haley was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs – two earned – from five hits and five walks.
Trent Viche was 2-for-4 with an RBI while
Jake Bryan had a pair of hits and scored once.
Rodwell Munoz and
Luis Martinez each drew two walks.
Thomas (7-13) and Webber International (12-6) are back in action Saturday with a Sun Conference doubleheader beginning at noon.
