LAKE WALES, Fla. –
Alisha Clayton scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Thomas University women's basketball team snapped its seven game losing streak with a 66-53 victory over Warner University (Fla.) Thursday night.
Clayton, who was 5-of-9 from the field, also had three assists, one steal and one blocked shot.
Samantha Gilbert led the Night Hawks with 22 points, draining a trio of shots from long range.
Emiah Downie also scored in double digits, going 5-of-8 from the field on her way to 13 points.
Ashley Bostick dished out six assists and swiped three steals for Thomas.
The Night Hawks jumped out to an early 16-12 lead, and led 25-24 at the half. TU took a five-point lead into the final quarter, then outscored the Royals 26-18 in the fourth to take home the victory.
With the win, TU improves to 4-17 overall and 2-15 in the Sun Conference.
Thomas ends the regular season Saturday at the TU Gymnasium when the Night Hawks face Webber International University (Fla.) at 2 p.m.
