THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Women's basketball team is set to host its first weeknight home game of the season, taking on TSC rival Ave Maria University Thursday evening.
In the team's last outing, TU (0-2, 0-2 TSC) kept pace with TSC Preseason runner-ups Coastal Georgia before ultimately falling short 68-59. The Lady Night Hawks' scoring is led by Senior Guard
Alexis Powell and Sophomore Guard
Emiah Downie, both averaging 14.5 Points apiece. Senior Guard
Alisha Clayton is third in TSC in Rebounds per Game (9.5).
Ave Maria (1-4, 0-2 TSC) rides a four-game skid heading into Thursday evening's game. Offensively, the Gyrenes are led by the Allen twins; Taylor leads the team in scoring with 13.4 Points per Game, while sister Megan is AMU's leading rebounder with 7.8 Boards a Game. The twins are as equally daunting on the defensive side, with Taylor averaging 2.8 Steals a Game and Megan averaging one block a game.
After subduing two of the top 3-Pt. shooting teams in TSC, the Lady Night Hawks should have an easier time defending AMU long-range, as the Gyrenes are last in the conference in 3-Pt. Percentage (.194).
Tipoff at TU Gymnasium is slated for 5:30 p.m. Links to follow the game can be found below:
