Scott Puts Up 23 Against Florida Memorial

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Joshua Scott went 8-of-16 from the field and hit seven free throws to lead Thomas University Thursday night at the TU Gymnasium. 

The Night Hawks lost, 69-68, to Florida Memorial University, to fall to 5-9 overall and 2-4 in the Sun Conference. 

Thomas trailed by three at the half, 33-30, and never led in the second half, but did tie the game at 68 with 39 seconds remaining off a layup by Shaquille Holley. After a steal by FMU with 11 seconds remaining, TU had to foul, and the Lions his one of two at the line. Sheldon Hendrix took a jumper as time expired, but it was off the mark and TU lost its fourth straight game. 

Thomas forced FMU into 21 turnovers, scoring 19 points off the Lions' miscues. 

Four Night Hawks scored in double digits, including Scott (23), Hendrix (14), Nebojsa Mickic (11) and Desean Enzor (10). Holley and Enzor each grabbed seven rebounds and Scott swiped four steals. 

The Night Hawks are back on the hardwood Saturday at 4 p.m. against St. Thomas University (Fla.) in the TU Gymnasium.
