THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's soccer team lost, 3-2, to SCAD Savannah Wednesday afternoon at the TU Soccer Complex.
The Night Hawks fall to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in Sun Conference action while SCAD improves to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the league.
SCAD took the 2-0 lead in the first period, then TU cut the deficit in half just one minute into the second stanza. SCAD added another goal in the 52nd minute, and Thomas netted one more in the final 10 minutes of regulation.
TU outshot SCAD 20-11 overall, and the teams each had six shots on goal. TU also had eight corners to SCAD's three.
Sam Eyes scored the first goal off an assist from
Ian Ward, and
Gavin Rochford-Smith finished the second goal, a freekick.
Rochford-Smith has netted at least one goal in three straight matches, and in five of the team's eight outings.
Thomas returns to the TU Soccer Complex Sept. 28 to face Sun Conference opponent Warner University at noon.
