WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The sixth-seeded Thomas University baseball team downed fifth-seeded Warner University, 12-1, Saturday afternoon to clinch a berth into the championship game of the Sun Conference Tournament held at the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.
TU has swept its three opponents in tournament play, upsetting regular season conference champion Southeastern on Thursday, fourth-seeded Keiser on Friday and Warner on Saturday.Â
Start time for Sunday's championship game will be at noon, with the "if necessary" game at 9 a.m. Monday. Thomas' championship game opponent will be the winner of the Webber International vs. Warner game, which will be played at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Thomas collected 19 hits in its rout of Warner on Saturday afternoon. The Night Hawks scored two in the second, one in the third and one in the fifth before Warner got on the board with one run in the sixth. TU answered with six in the bottom of the frame and two in the seventh to take the 12-1 win.Â

Luis Martinez – collected three hits for TU. O'Steen connected on a double, recorded two RBI and scored twice while Hinson tagged a pair of doubles, knocked in three RBI and scored a trio of times. Martinez also had a double, an RBI and scored twice.Â

Patrick Haley earned the win, striking out four while allowing one run from five hits and four walks in 6.0 innings.Â
