CLERMONT, Fla. – The Thomas University softball team fell, 9-1, to Warner University in the first round of the 2019 Sun Conference Championship Tournament held May 2-4 at PFX Athletics - Legends Way Ballfields.
Third-seeded Thomas (22-21) was outhit 15-4 by sixth-seeded Warner (27-14), and made two fielding errors in the game.Â

Corryne Diaz connected on a double for the Night Hawks and scored in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder
Izzy Ekstam hit an RBI single to left field.Â
Starting pitcher
Sheala Brown tossed 4.1 innings, allowing nine runs - eight earned – from 14 hits and one walk.
Emily Bowne came in for 0.2 innings of relief, allowing just one hit.Â
Thomas returns to the field Friday morning at 9 a.m. to face top-seeded College of Costal Georgia in the first elimination game of the double-elimination tournament.Â
