NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Thomas University senior
Micah Garvin drained four 3-pointers on her way to 29 points in the Night Hawks' 76-57 loss to Johnson & Wales University (Fla.) Thursday night at the Wildcat Center.
Garvin was 12-of-20 from the field and 4-of-6 from three, while recording six rebounds, four steals and a block.
Alisha Clayton grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds and
Jewel Montisano's five assists led the Night Hawks.
Thomas falls to 6-15 overall and 3-7 in the Sun Conference while Johnson & Wales is now 6-12, 3-7.
After trailing 16-14 after the first quarter, Thomas outscored JWU 17-10 in the second period to take the 31-26 halftime lead. The Wildcats came out hot in the second half, though, outscoring Thomas 50-26 in the second period.
Thomas stays in South Florida to play Keiser University Jan. 19 in West Palm Beach before returning to the TU Gymnasium to face St. Thomas University Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m.
