THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's basketball team lost, 81-66, to Faulkner University Tuesday night at the TU Gymnasium.
Junior
Joshua Scott led the Night Hawks with 18 points while junior
Dexter Hood added 11 points and seven rebounds. Redshirt freshman
Marcus Louis led the team with eight boards and sophomore
Brandon Kostyk drained three 3-pointers on his way to nine points.
TU was 28-of- 64 (43.8%) from the field and hit 25 percent (6-24) from three while Faulkner hit 30-of-58 (51.7%) overall and 50 percent (11-22) from distance.
Thomas scored the first five points of the game, but Faulkner took the 7-5 lead at 17:19. With nine minutes left in the first, TU led, 23-19, after a tip in by senior
Jordan Radcliff, then Faulkner went on a run, taking an 11-point lead with 4:27 to play. By halftime, Thomas made up some ground and trailed by seven, 41-34.
In the second period, the Eagles extended their lead to 17 midway through the half. Thomas never got closer than 14 points the remainder of the game, falling, 81-66, after consecutive layups from freshman
Jayveion Foster in the final 45 seconds.
The Night Hawks return to the court next week for Sun Conference action, traveling to Miami Gardens, Fla., to face Florida Memorial University on Nov. 29 and No. 25 St. Thomas University on Dec. 1.
