Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | THOMASVILLE, Ga.

MSoccer Downs Keiser, 2-1

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's soccer team took down Keiser, 2-1, Saturday at the TU Soccer Complex to remain undefeated in Sun Conference action.

The Night Hawks are 5-3-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the Sun Conference, which is atop the league standings. No. 22 Southeastern is second at 4-0.

On Saturday Keiser, which was receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll, struck  early with a goal in the fourth minute, but Thomas rebounded with a pair of second-half goals to earn the 2-1 win.

Keiser outshot Thomas 15-7 overall, and 8-2 on goal, but TU's goalkeeper Ben Barnes made seven saves to help TU to the victory.

Junior Sam Eyes netted his third goal and sophomore Logan Moriarty scored his first goal of the season, while Gavin Rochford-Smith recorded his second assist and Y'sef Glass tallied his third assist of the year.

The Seahawks attacked early, earning a corner kick, then scoring on a header at 3:57. Over the next 40 minutes, KU outshot TU 7-1.

The second half started with a pair of corners by TU in the first minute. After a shot attempt from Keiser, Thomas flew down the field and Glass found Eyes for the Night Hawks' first goal of the game.

TU's attack continued with a flurry of three shots over the next three minutes. Then in the 60th minute Thomas was awarded a corner kick. Rochford-Smith sent the ball in, and Moriarty put a head on it to score the go-ahead goal and eventual game-winner.

Thomas' game against SCAD-Savannah Oct. 10 was forfeited, so the Night Hawks will next play Oct. 13 at Warner in Lake Wales, Fla.
