Box Score

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Arianna Anderson recorded her fifth double-double this season Thursday evening, but Saint Thomas (Fla.) defeated Thomas, 74-55, in Sun Conference (TSC) play inside Fernandez Family Center. The Bobcats have won 10 of their last 11 games in conference.

"Both teams struggled from distance but made up for it at the free throw line," Night Hawk coach Myron Brown said. "However we turned the ball over too many times to give us a chance to win."

Katie Rienas scored 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting to go along with four steals. Samara Auguste tallied 15 points, hitting 7-of-8 free throws. Ebony Griffin had 11 points, while Kristina Bugarski and Keiana Brooks each scored nine. Bugarski also had seven rebounds.

Anderson tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kriza Allen netted nine points. Pkacia Johnson, Samantha Gilbert and De'Audra Copeland each recorded six points. Dymon Brown pulled down six boards, while Jewel Montisano grabbed five and totaled four of the team's eight steals.

The Bobcats shot 42.9 percent (27-of-63) from the field. Despite going just 3-of-15 from 3, the home team was 17-of-21 from the stripe, including 13-of-15 in the first half.

The Night Hawks shot 34.4 percent (21-of-61) from the floor and 11-of-12 from the free throw line, including 9-of-10 in the second 20 minutes. M. Brown's team held an edge in rebounds, 42-36, and grabbed 16 offensive boards, leading to 14 second chance points.

Thomas (6-11, 2-10 TSC) jumped out to a four-point lead following baskets from Gilbert and Anderson, but Saint Thomas (14-7, 10-1) closed the first quarter outscoring the Green and White 21-8.

Already leading 21-17, the Bobcats used a 9-0 run in the second quarter, finished off with an Auguste and-one at the 5:39 mark, to lead by double digits for good. Saint Thomas led 44-25 at halftime and 63-45 at the end of the third quarter.

The Night Hawks continue league play at Florida Memorial on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
