Anderson nets fourth double-double in loss

THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Night Hawks' Arianna Anderson recorded her fourth double-double this season, but Johnson & Wales (Fla.) broke a three-game losing streak to Thomas with a 70-56 Sun Conference (TSC) win on Thursday evening inside TU Gymnasium.

"Johnson & Wales added a few pieces around the break, and it's really benefited them as of late," Night Hawks coach Myron Brown said. "We have to do a much better job shooting the ball. We need our players that can make shots to shoot with confidence."

Four Wildcats scored in double-figures in the team's fourth-straight victory. Diamond Williams led her team with 18 points and six assists. JoNae Gonzales added 14 points. Alexis McClain notched 12 points and seven rebounds. Tianna Ayulo had 10 points.

Johnson & Wales (8-11, 4-6 TSC) finished 42.9 percent (27-of-63) from the floor and 40 percent (8-of-20) from 3-point range.

Anderson finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Kriza Allen narrowly missed her second double-double after posting 17 points and nine boards. 

Pkacia Johnson scored nine of the Green and White's 15 bench points.

Thomas (6-10, 2-8 TSC) converted 35.5 percent (22-of-62) from the floor. The Night Hawks totaled 20 fastbreak points.

The Wildcats led from the opening tip, posting a 21-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter and 36-23 edge at halftime. 

Thomas increased the tempo in the third quarter but still trailed 59-36 heading into the final 10 minutes.

The Night Hawks host Keiser (Fla.) on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
