Arianna Anderson tallied a double-double with an exhibition-high 20 points and team-high 12 rebounds Sunday afternoon, but Kennesaw State came away with a 68-40 win over Thomas in the KSU Convocation Center. Myron Brown's team travels to Stetson on Friday, Nov. 10, for a 1 p.m. ET tip-off.
"Kennesaw State was a good test for us," Brown said. "They're a quality opponent that'll make us better and tougher later in the season, especially in conference play."
Anderson finished 6-of-7 from the free throw line, but Kennesaw State outscored the Night Hawks 24-7 in the first quarter to pull away for the win.
Alexis Poole and Kamiyah Street each scored 13 points to lead five Owls in double figures. Poole posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Ciara Young added 12 points, while Caroline Dan and Janae Osumi each had 10.Â
De'Audra Copeland added six points and five rebounds for Thomas.
Kriza Allen and
Alisha Clayton each pulled down seven rebounds. Allen had two of the team's four steals. Clayton hauled in five of the squad's 18 offensive rebounds.
Neither team shot better than 34 percent from the floor, but the Owls turned 27 Night Hawk turnovers into 29 points.
Brown's squad finished 10-of-13 from the charity stripe.
