COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Thomas University men's soccer team cruised to an 8-0 victory over Bethel (Tenn.) in the NAIA Southeast Challenge Saturday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

The Night Hawks improved to 2-0-1 on the season, while the Wildcats fell to 1-2-0 on the year. TU plays No. 23 Lindsey Wilson 8 p.m. Sunday in Columbia, Ky.

Jarrod Ingram put the Night Hawks on the scoreboard in the 10th minute with an assist from Jack Chambers, his third goal of the season. Bethel netted an own goal five minutes later that gave TU a 2-0 lead.

Severin Abt converted a penalty kick in the 18th minute that extended the Night Hawks lead to 3-0. Abt found the back of the net four minutes later with an assist from Antoine Akoure.

Leo Thompson gave the Night Hawks a 5-0 lead in the 34th minute with an assist from Ingram. Three minutes later, Jesper Svall netted the Night Hawks sixth goal of the game with an assist from Thompson. The Night Hawks took a 6-0 lead into the locker room.

Ingram started the second half with his second goal of the game in the 48th minute, Abt provided the assist. Svall netted his second goal of the team in the 63rd minute.

Lee Howarth collected three saves in 84 minutes of play, while Brandon Krambeck recorded one save in seven minutes of action.

The Night Hawks scored 14 goals in the past two games, while Ingram found the back of the net four times in the past two games.
