Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Night Hawks Soar Over Florida Memorial 6-0

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University women's soccer team cruised to a 6-0 victory over Florida Memorial in The Sun Conference season opener Friday at the TU Soccer Complex. Six different TU players scored in the game.

The Night Hawks went to 2-6-0, 1-0-0 in TSC, while the Lions fell to 1-2-0, 0-1-0 in TSC on the season. TU continues conference play 1 p.m. Sunday at the TU Soccer Complex.

Katy Hanscomb netted the first goal of the game in the 30th minute off a pass from Milene Anstett. The Night Hawks took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

TU scored three goals in a matter of three minutes in the second half. Anstett started the scoring rally off in the 54th minute with a goal off a corner kick. Kaleigh Premo scored her first goal of the season a minute later with an assist from Olivia Taylor. Anna Gray netted her first goal of the season in the 56th minute with an assist from Rebekah Wiltshire.

Ciera McGriff-Duncan added a goal in the 76th minute off a pass from Madison Buechner. The Night Hawks scoring ended in the 87th minute when Buechner found the back of the net.

Kara Houston collected five saves in 80 minutes in goal for TU, while Rachel Lopez played the last 10 minutes.

The Night Hawks took 23 shots and put 15 on frame in the game.
