THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas University softball team will be back in action for the first time in 11 days, Thursday, when they square off against Indiana University-Southeast in a non-conference double-header at Armory Field.
In their last time out, the Lady Night Hawks (4-2), pulled off an upset over #2 Lindsey Wilson, sweeping the Lady Raiders 7-4 and 7-6 in extra innings. Sophomore
Michael Cooper leads the team in batting averages (.438) and runs batted in (11). Freshman
Gaby Mora leads TU in stolen bases (4). Sophomore pitcher
Katie Lopes (3-0) is sporting a team best earned run average of 2.72.
The Grenadiers are set to begin their 2016 softball campaign with a fairly young roster that holds only 13 players, with nine of them being freshmen. IU-Southeast will rely on their lone senior Brookelyn Visker to pave the way for the Grenadiers. Visker finished last season with a .384 batting average while driving in 28 runs.
First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
