Night Hawks Soar Past Brewton-Parker 86-67

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's basketball team remained undefeated on the season with an 86-67 win over Brewton-Parker (Ga.) on Saturday at the TU Gymnasium. TU had five players score in double figures in the game.

The Night Hawks improved to 3-0 on the year, while the Barons went to 3-1 on the season. TU travels for a 7:30 p.m. matchup at Reinhardt (Ga.) on Wednesday.

Javoris Cooks led at scorers with 16 points, while Jalen Bonds produced a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Traevon Gresham produced 11 points, while Jamison Williams and Ivan Tomic both added 10.

Dante DiSipio made a jumper in the lane and put TU up 11-2 early in the game. The Night Hawks went on an 18-0 spirt and took a 35-11 lead. Jamison Williams converted a layup and put TU up 41-13, it's largest lead of the game. Bonds had a dunk that gave the Night Hawks a 46-24 lead into the halftime break.

The Barons went on an 11-2 run in the second half that cut the TU lead to 62-50. The Night Hawks extended the lead to 77-58 before Marcuz Ford knocked down a three-pointer for BPC. Cooks converted an and one that put TU ahead 84-63 with a little more than a minute to play.

The Night Hawks shot 82.4 percent (14-of-17) from the charity stripe in the game.
