The #6 seeded St. Thomas University Bobcats (24-25) dropped #3 Thomas University (24-22), 11-2, in first round action of the 2014 Sun Conference Softball Tournament being played at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.

Aimee Johnson (2-3, 2 RBI, 2B) doubled to deep left-center to bring in two runs and knot the game at two. St. Thomas re-took the lead with a run in the fourth and never looked back, scoring another in the fifth and putting the game away with five in the sixth. The Bobcats tacked on two runs in the seventh to put an exclamation point on the victory. Ashley Sikes (12-5) took the loss, allowing nine runs (four earned) on eleven hits in five plus innings of work.
Thomas will face off with #2 University of South Carolina – Beaufort, who lost to #7 Ave Maria University, in an elimination game tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
