Thomas Softball (16-17, 1-2) and the host Embry Riddle University Eagles (19-14, 8-2) split a Saturday afternoon Sun Conference double header in Daytona Beach, Fla.

TU used 10 hits to score ten runs in a 10-0 five inning run rule game one victory. A two run home run by senior catcher Aimee Johnson (2-3, 2 R, 4 RBI, 3B, HR) highlighted a seven run second inning, staking the Lady Night Hawks to a 7-0 advantage that ERU would be unable to overcome. Thomas made it 10-0min in their half of the fourth and blanked the Eagles over the next two frames to seal the five inning victory. Freshman starting pitcher Ashley Sikes (6-2) limited Embry to only four hits in the five innings of work for her sixth win of the year. The native of Bristol, Fla. is riding a 3 game winning streak on the mound. Senior second baseman Brittany Mayhill (1-2, 2 R, 3 RBI, 3B) drove in three runs.

ERU bounced back in game two, one hitting TU in a 5-0 victory. TU committed 4 errors in the game, leading to five unearned runs. Senior starting pitcher Summer Rose (7-6) tossed 4 1/3 innings in the hard luck loss.
The Lady Night Hawks will be back in TSC action tomorrow in Babson Park, Fla. when they face Webber International University in a double header beginning at 1 p.m.
