Box Score 2 The Night Hawks Softball team (22-21, 8-6) and the host Warner University Royals (16-20, 8-8) split a Sun Conference double header on Saturday afternoon in Lake Wales, Fla.
TU scored three runs in the third and four in the fourth to overcome an early 4-0 deficit in game one, after WU had scored four in their opening frame. Freshman starting pitcher
Ashley Sikes (11-3) blanked Warner the rest of the way to secure her eleventh win of the season. Sikes helped her cause at the dish going 2-3, with a double, while driving in three runs. Senior catcher
Aimee Johnson (1-4, 2 RBI) drove in two runs.
Warner avoided the double header sweep with a three run fourth, in game two, to take a 4-3 lead and added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth for the 5-3 win. TU was limited to only six hits. Senior starting pitcher

Thomas will wrap up their regular season tomorrow afternoon at Armory Field, as they welcome NAIA #14 and Sun Conference leader University of South Carolina – Beaufort for a TSC double dip beginning at 1 p.m. TU will be looking for a sweep in order to potentially climb into the #3 seed at the 2014 TSC Tourney.
