Box Score 2 TU Softball (20-19, 6-4) split a Sun Conference double header with Northwood University (13-21, 4-8) this afternoon at Armory Field.
The Lady Night Hawks took the opener 11-3, in five innings, on the strength of a three run first inning followed by four runs in the second. TU made it 11-2 with four more in the fourth and clinched the run rule win when they closed out Northwood in the fifth. Junior left fielder

Kallie Shirling (2-2, 2 R, 3 RBI, HR) each contributed a home run. Sophomore right fielder Alex VanWagner (2-2, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB) drove in two runs. Freshman starting pitcher
Ashley Sikes (9-3) went four innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits, for the win.
Northwood bounced back to take game two 5-1. TU was held to five hits. Senior starting pitcher
Summer Rose (8-7) suffered the loss.
Thomas will remain at home next Friday, for their final home games of the season, when they welcome University of South Carolina – Beaufort for a TSC double header beginning at 1 p.m.
