The Lady Night Hawks Top Edward Waters

Thomas University's Women's Basketball (4-0) (TSC 0-0) notched another victory under their belt as they topped Edward Waters College 60-43 in the Trinity Baptist Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla.

Senior Courtney Saunds led the way for the Lady Night Hawks as she drained 22 points and collected 7 steals in 38 minutes of action.  Sophomore Shaunice Bennett hooped to double digits, dropping 11 points on the Tigers, and adding 4 steals in her 26 minutes of work. 

Thomas opened up the first half of the game topping Edward Waters 32-23.  The Lady Night Hawks added another 28 points to the board as they hit the court for the second half, outscoring the Tigers by 8.  TU Women's Basketball collected the majority of their points on turnovers as they rained in 20.  Thomas shot 71.43% of their Free-Throws, 38.24% of their Field-Goal attempts, and 16.67% from behind the arc to secure their victory over the Edward Waters College Lady Tigers.

"Winning on the road is always a tough task," said Head TU Women's Basketball Coach, Coretta Brown.  "We did an excellent job this weekend, and we were able to bring home two more victories.  The team is beginning to gel together and it shows on the court."

The Lady Night Hawks will return to the court on Tuesday, November 11th at 5:30 PM at the Thomas University Gymnasium as they take on the Middle Georgia State College Knights. TU will honor all the service men and women Tuesday as they recognize Veterans Day.
