Box Score BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Lady Night Hawks basketball team lost their second consecutive game tonight against the Lady Mariners of the College of Coast Georgia 96-89 after starting the season off with four wins in a row.
In first half action, the Lady Knights led the Lady Mariners 37-35. Second half action and the game's eventual outcome centered on the battle of free-throw shots. Coastal Georgia went to the line and converted on 41 of its 52 free throws while TU only netted 11 of its 21 opportunities from the charity stripe.
Senior guard
Jessica Anderson led the way for the Lady Night Hawks scoring 25 points while bringing down three boards in 27 minutes of action. Anderson shot fifty percent from behind the arch netting four of her eight shots. Senior
Courtney Saunds, who played all 40 minutes of the contest, narrowly missed a double-double scoring 21 points in the effort while adding two steals, seven rebounds, and one block.
The Lady Mariners improved to 4-0 on the season sending TU to a 4-2 record overall.
The Lady Night Hawks return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 19 when they travel to Cochran, Ga. to take on and potentially avenge last's week nail-biting loss to the Knights of Middle Georgia State College (3-0). Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
