Box Score THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Lady Night Hawks basketball team's four-game winning streak came to a halt tonight after falling in a hard fought loss against the Lady Knights of Middle Georgia State College 64-61.
In first half action, the Lady Knights jumped out to an early 39-19 that caused the Lady Night Hawks to play catch up for the remainder of the game. During the intermission, head coach
Coretta Brown regrouped her squad's focus and drive leading to an instant defensive onslaught causing 16 of the Lady Knights' 23 turnovers. Dominate defensive play by

Laura Cherranfant led the Lady Night Hawks on their late surge and comeback in the final minutes of competition. The Green and White tied the game at 61-61 with 1:11 remaining on the clock. MGSC's freshman guard Tia Troup hit what would become the game winning three-pointer with just 13 seconds remaining on the clock. The Lady Night Hawks had one last look at tying the game with a three-pointer by senior
Courtney Saunds that rimmed out when the buzzer sounded, sending the Lady Knights home to Macon, Ga. with the 64-61 victory.
Saunds led the way for the Lady Night Hawks scoring 18 points while bringing down five boards and racking up two assists in 33 minutes of action. Sophomore
Shaunice Bennett scored 12 points in the effort while adding five steals and two rebounds.
The Knights improved to 2-0 on the season sending TU to an 4-1 record overall.
