Box Score Thomas University Women's Basketball (1-0) (0-0 TSC) defeated the Point University Skyhawks (0-1) in their 2014-2015 season opener, 67-48.
Point University, shooting 26% from the field and 25% from the arc, came up short offensively. The Skyhawks made 13 of their 25 possible free throws. Defensively, Point marked down five steals and five blocks, but it wasn't enough to stop the Lady Night Hawks.
Your Lady Night Hawks showed their skill and discipline, getting 12 steals, four by Senior Guard #32
Courtney Saunds, and four blocks, two of which were made by Junior Forward #25

Jessica Anderson were the lead scorers for the Lady Night Hawks, netting 23, 9, 9, and 8 points, respectively. Altogether, TU shot 45% from the field, drained 28.6% from behind the arc, and made 60% of their free throw attempts.
"Our defense today was commendable and defense wins championships," said TU Head Women's Basketball Coach,
Coretta Brown. "We saw some things we need to be more disciplined with and we will be sure to address those. I'm pleased at how this team is coming together early on in the season and am excited about their future with TU."
The Lady Night Hawks will tip off against Brewton-Parker in a double header with Men's Basketball Tuesday, November 4
th at 5:30 PM in the Thomas University Gymnasium.
