Thomas Lady Night Hawks Snap 5 Game Losing Streak

Box Score The Thomas Lady Night hawks (7-11, 3-4) snapped a 5 game losing streak with a road win over Warner University (13-4, 4-4), 88-82, this evening in Lake Wales, FL.

WU started the game out with a quick 5-0 lead until a jumper by Junior Taylor Britt broke the seal for TU. The first half went back and forth with 5 ties and 13 lead changes. Thomas would eventually take a one point advantage into the locker room.

Warner took the lead back less than 30 seconds in the second half. In the second half, just like the first half, the teams battled back and forth for the opening 13 minutes, with the last tie, at 57, coming with 8:16 on the clock. The Lady Night Hawks began to take control with 7 minutes left in the game, junior Jessica Anderson hit a big three that shifted the tempo of the game in favor of TU. In the last five minutes of the game Thomas would build their largest lead of 12 and wrap up the critical Sun Conference match up.

Thomas had four players in double figures. Watts led the way for TU with 20 points, 6 of those points were from behind the arc and 8 from the charity strip. Anderson scored 18 points with two three pointers. Britt added 14 points and 7 rebounds and Junior Christina Wynn added 13 points and 9 rebounds.
Junior Ivory Smith led the rebound battle with 11 boards and came just one point shy of a double-double.

TU Women's basketball will be back in action on Saturday January 25th at the TU Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
