Thomas Women's Basketball (2-4) notched an historic win on Tuesday evening, knocking off the visiting Brewton Parker College Lady Barons (0-4), 61-52, in the program's first ever home game at the Thomas University Gymnasium.
In an end to end first half, the Lady Barons led by two with less than a minute to play before the Lady Night Hawks tied the game at 27 on a lay-up. TU was powered by ten first half points off the hot hand of junior forward
Ivory Smith. With twelve minutes remaining in the second half the teams were tied, before the lady Night Hawks soared ahead and opened up a four point lead over the next two minutes. A three point shot by junior guard
Jessica Anderson with 6:30 to play, would open a nine point advantage for TU before closing out the eventual nine point victory. Smith led the way with her first double-double of the year, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds while junior forward
Taylor Britt contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the year.
TU will remain at home, hosting Trinity Baptist College on Monday November 18
th at 6PM.
