The Faulkner University Eagles (1-0) topped the Lady Night Hawks basketball team (0-2), 69-57, on Friday evening in Montgomery, AL.

Faulkner took a two point lead just nine seconds into the game before extending their lead to 10 at the 14:45 mark. The Eagles led the entire half and took a 41-16 lead into the break. TU made it a 8 point game after going on a 12-4 run midway thru the first half but it would be the closest that the Lady Night Hawks would get. Faulkner responded with an 8-3 run to open their lead once again and stretched it to a 60-46 margin with four minutes to play. Junior guard Miracle Watts scored 16, going 7 for 22 from the field with a three pointer and knocking down five free throws. It was the second consecutive double digit shooting performance for watts.

Thomas will next face Auburn University – Montgomery, tomorrow at 7PM, in game three of the Jimmy Faulkner Classic in Montgomery, AL.
