Women's Basketball (0-1) fell last night, 76-70, against Voorhees College (1-0) in Denmark, SC, in the first year program's first ever game.
Voorhees led most of the first half with the teams taking a two point game, 28-26, into the locker room. In the second half, Voorhees led by as many as 10 but the Lady Night Hawks stayed composed and climbed back to take a two point advantage, on the strength of 44 second half points. Voorhees would pull away late to secure the six point win.
Junior guard Miracle Watts scored the first ever points for the TU Women's Basketball team with a three pointer. Watts finished the game with 22 points. Junior guard Angel Roberts recorded the program's first ever double-double after knocking down 21 points and pulling down 10 assist.
The Lady Night Hawks will remain on the road, they travel to Montgomery, AL., looking for the first win in program history on Friday November 1st at 6:00pm EST when they face Faulkner University in the Jimmy Faulkner Classic.
