Chelsea Parmer is in her second year as Thomas University’s Flag Football Head Coach.
Under Parmer, the Night Hawks had an incredible, inaugural season, finishing with the most wins in a season in NAIA Flag Football history (18) and taking both the regular season and tournament titles in the SUN Conference before finishing as national finalists.
Parmer came to the Night Hawks after spending six years as the Flag Football Head Coach at Amos P. Godby High School in Tallahassee, Fla. With Parmer at the helm, the Cougars made two, state semifinal appearances and a regional final appearance. The Tallahassee, Fla. native became the first female to be named the All-Big Bend Coach of the Year, en route to winning the award three different times (2014, 2016, 2019). During APG’s second trip to the state semifinal in 2016, nine total Godby players were named to All-Big Bend Team that season, including; five made First Team (including Player of the Year Shelby Hartley), two made Second Team and an additional two were Honorable Mentions. During her time at APG, Parmer coached three, different quarterbacks that received Player of the Year honors.
Prior to Godby, Parmer spent 2009-2013 coaching at her alma mater Leon High School, with the first three years spent as an assistant coach before taking over as Head Coach for the last two. In her five seasons as a coach for LHS, the Lions made four District Final appearances, two State Quarterfinal appearances, and one trip to the State Championship.
At the high school level, Parmer holds an overall head coaching record of 90-31.
In her high school days, Parmer was a dual athlete for Leon, playing both flag football and soccer. With the Lions, Parmer was a four-year starter that guided LHS to three, state appearances that included back-to-back state titles in 2007 and 2008.
