Glynn Poindexter enters his first season at Thomas University in the 2026-2027 academic year as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Head JV Men's Basketball Coach.
Prior to joining the Night Hawks, Poindexter gained experience at multiple collegiate programs across the country. He served as a Graduate Assistant for the Florida Memorial University developmental men's basketball program during the 2023-2024 season before joining Wayland Baptist University as a Graduate Assistant for the 2024-2025 campaign. He then spent the 2025-2026 season as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Mobile, continuing to develop his coaching expertise at the collegiate level.
A 2022 graduate of Saint Leo University in Tampa, Florida, Poindexter earned a bachelor's degree in Sport Business. During his time at Saint Leo, he spent three seasons as a student assistant with the men's basketball program, where he played an integral role in day-to-day operations. His responsibilities included player skill and individual development, statistical analysis, scout team participation, preparation of scouting reports, practice planning, and coordinating team travel alongside the graduate assistant and assistant coaching staff.
Throughout his coaching and student assistant career, Poindexter has been part of several successful programs, including a Sunshine State Conference Championship in 2021, an NCCAA Final Four appearance in 2023, and a Sun Conference Championship in 2024.
A native of Arlington, Texas, Poindexter graduated from Bowie High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete competing in both basketball and baseball.
