Sergio Rapuano

Sergio Rapuano enters his role as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Thomas University with more than 25 years of collegiate, professional, and international coaching experience. His career spans NCAA Division I and II programs, NJCAA programs, national team appointments, MLS and GA youth development, and leadership roles across elite soccer organizations. Rapuano’s coaching influence extends well beyond the college game, with many of his former players advancing to professional careers around the world.

Rapuano most recently served as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Florida Southern College, overseeing training design, opposition analysis, and student-athlete academic support. He previously held major roles with West Florida Flames as Goalkeeping Director, MLS and GA Staff Coach, and College Recruitment Coordinator, where he built goalkeeper development pathways and a comprehensive college placement program.

Internationally, Rapuano brings rare dual-team experience as an assistant coach for both the U.S. Virgin Islands Men’s and Women’s National Teams, contributing to World Cup Qualifiers, Olympic Qualifiers, and CONCACAF Nations League competition.

His collegiate background includes impactful coaching and recruiting roles at Columbia University, Longwood University, Broward College, and others. At Longwood, he secured the largest single donation in program history within his first two weeks.

Rapuano holds a UEFA B License, Italian B Coaching Badge, USSF Goalkeeping License, and USSF National C License. He is the proud father of four and lives locally with his wife and their three dogs.
