TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Night Hawks faced the Stillman Tigers and won 79-67, Monday night at Birthright Alumni Hall.
The Night Hawks fell behind quickly in the first half but managed to cut it close going into the break off of a
Ryan Williams triple from a
Jonathan Goldson dish.
The Tigers opened up the second half with a layup from Dasean Sellers to extend their lead to four but the Night Hawks responded with back to back two hand jams from
Michael Smith to tie the game at 40.
Stillman took the lead once again after a made free throw from Sellers but Goldson converted a jumper to take the lead 42-41. Sellers traded the lead for the Tigers once again with a layup with help from Brandon Howard to bring the score to 43-42 with a Stillman advantage but not for long as Goldson gave the Night Hawks the lead for good with a layup of his own.
Shane Payne led all all Night Hawks with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Goldson followed with 14 points, six rebounds and six assists. Smith rounded out the offense with 10 points, six rebounds and a block.
Eli Curry added in five points, five rebounds and four steals.
The Night Hawks shot 45% from the field as a team and 38.5% from beyond the arc.
Thomas returns to action for an exhibition against Division II opponent Columbus State University on Thursday at 10 am for their last contest of 2025. The Night Hawks open the year with a rematch against RV Southeastern.
