Night Hawks cruise past Stallions

TIFTON, Ga. - A complete team effort and dominant second half helps the Night Hawks defeat the Abraham Baldwin Stallions 93-72 on Saturday afternoon.

The first half of play initially featured brief back and forth action. However, the Night Hawks quickly found their offensive rhythm. Jailin Lee provided life for Thomas, compiling 12 first half points. Nine minutes into the half, a Deonta Jones layup gave Thomas their largest lead of the half and created a 15 point advantage. The Stallions then came storming back by producing a 10-0 run to close the half. The Night Hawks would enter the break tied 40-40.

In the second half, The Night Hawks produced a dominant half of play. Thomas set the tone for the remainder of the contest by producing a 7-0 run highlighted by a Lee layup, Andre Lightbourne three and Christian Nurse layup. Lightbourne later capitalized on back to back threes to drain any remaining sign of life from the Stallions.

Coach Colin Cotter said this about the win. "Today was a great team effort from our guys. We had multiple guys step up and make a big difference on both ends of the floor. After giving up our double digit lead going into half time, I was really proud of the way we stuck together and to the game plan, and played extremely well in the 2nd half. I also want to shout out our bench for bringing energy the entire game."

Lightbourne produced 14 points, two assists, and two rebounds. Lee and Armani Thomas each added 14 points, while Ja'Vian Baker added 12 points and three rebounds.

The Night Hawks (8-7, 2-4 SSAC) return to action with SSAC play in a matchup against Brewton-Parker College(6-8, 2-2 SSAC) on Tuesday, January 7th at 7:30 PM.
