THOMASVILLE, Ga. - In a contest where both teams were as evenly matched as they were competitive, as the Thomas Night Hawks walked away with the win against former conference foe the Stillman Tigers on Tuesday night at the TU Gym.
From the jump the game was a back-and-forth affair as the Tigers came out swinging holding the lead for the majority of the first half, an
Atraiel Washington layup put the Night Hawks ahead as the half began to wind down, a couple of makes by Stillman put them in front before a
Ja'Vian Baker three put the Night Hawks in the lead at the half.Â
Thomas kept the lead for the entire second half, a 12-5 run highlighted by an and-one from
Jordan Howe and a three pointer from
Joshua Robertson to put the Night Hawks up by five. However, Stillman did not go away quietly as they managed to take back the lead with 5:43 to go. On the ensuing possession, Howe again made his way to the rack for another and-one conversion and on the next possession, he made it back to the line, making both free throws to extend the lead to four. A couple of Tiger foul shots brought it back to a one possession game.
Tyson Anderson made a layup to swing it to a two-possession game with a 1:38 to go. Stillman made another shot to make the deficit two, then Howe answered the call again with a huge layup, and then later made one of two shots from the stripe to bring the lead to five. The Tigers made one last run, converting an and-one and having opportunity to take the lead with a three, but it rolled off the rim and the Night Hawks sank four free throws in a row to close out the game.

Howe finished with 17 points, shooting 71 percent from the field and going 7-8 from the stripe, he also had five boards and a steal. Robertson had 11 points and two assists.

Thomas will be back at home next week facing Coastal Georgia on Tuesday, November 12
th at 7:00 PM in their final non-conference game before beginning SSAC play.
