In an electrifying start to the season, the Night Hawks showcased their prowess at the TU Gymnasium on October 29, as they toppled the Morris Hornets with a resounding 105-56 victory in their season opener.
The Night Hawks set the tone early, going on a 14-0 run with
Andre Lightbourne and
Armani Thomas making four three-pointers in a row collectively, that momentum continued through out the half as Thomas took a commanding lead into the locker room. From there never looked back. The team's robust performance was highlighted by a dominant second half, where they significantly outscored the Hornets. The Night Hawks scoring was led by Thomas and
Jordan Howe, each putting up 12 points, setting the pace for a high-scoring affair.
Key contributors included Jonathon Goldson, who dazzled with his assists and sharpshooting from beyond the arc, and
Deonta Jones, lauded for his efficient scoring throughout the game. On the opposition, Tourran Warner of Morris made notable contributions with vital three-pointers but couldn't thwart the Night Hawks' relentless attack. The game was highest scoring for Thomas since 2016-17 season when they beat Webber International 105-82.Â
